About IP Savant
About The IP Savant…
I’m a Senior Network Architect for a Fiber Optic ISP (FTTH) in Northern California. I’ve been working in the Network Engineering field for nearly ten years, with stints at Fortune 100, Fortune 500 and Government agencies.
My main areas of expertise are in Network Design; with a strong focus on complex interior (OSPF, EIGRP) and exterior (BGP) routing, Multicast routing and Layer 2 VPN (MPLS, VPLS). I’ve been doing R&D and architecture work exclusively since 2006, including device qualification, strategic innovation and deployment of services like IP Television (IPTV).
I got my CCNA back in 2000 and followed up with a CCNP in 2003, after taking a two year break when my first child was born. I sat the CCIE Lab Exam 3 times in 2005 which culminated in a near miss (2 points) and a re-read. After that dissappointment, I took a short break but have now returned to CCIE studies – determined to finish what I started by the end of 2009.
About IPSavant.net…
I created IPSavant.net with the goal of becoming a true online community for Network Engineering professionals, and those interested in pursuing Network Engineering Certifications or careers. My Blog is the first step towards that end; it will be posted three times a week with updates on my CCIE progress, industry news and discussion of relavant topics.
I hope to grow the site into a large community where Network Engineering professionals can exchange ideas, have meaningful discussions, and further our overall knowledge. I invite you to join the community, participate in the forums, contribute to the discussions. Hope to see you around
